Purpose: Promote the SWOOP brand to future applicants by increasing brand awareness and student engagement. We transformed the Open House into a Retro-Carnival event inspired by the the popular Stranger Things franchise and the State Fair of Texas to generate excitement among students and highlight the unique talents each individual can bring to SWOOP.

Strategy: Broaden SWOOP Agency’s reach beyond advertising majors by positioning the agency as an inclusive, career-launching space for students in design, business, journalism, communication, and related fields.

Tactic: Highlight how their unique skills contribute to real-world client work. We aim to reframe SWOOP as a creative hub where diverse talents can thrive, collaborate, and jumpstart the professional journey that can make them build a skill-set that sets them apart from their peers.

Pre-Open House Roll-Out: For this Open House, we first started out by creating a flyer that fit our theme, which includes date, times, activities, and benefits. We also visited several classrooms to give short presentations encouraging aspiring young advertisers to check out SWOOP's open house to learn more information. Tabling was also done to get more one-on-one interactions with students to promote the upcoming Open House.

Social Media: We expanded and actively engaged on SWOOP’s social media, which had been underutilized. We created posts that repositioned SWOOP into a newly revamped, knowledgeable, and professional student agency as an experience students wouldn’t want to miss out on. Media promotion was heavy with consistent posts about the open house & application opening.

Post-Open House Roll-out: We expanded and actively engaged on SWOOP’s social media, which had been underutilized. We created posts that repositioned SWOOP into a newly revamped, knowledgeable, and professional student agency as an experience students wouldn’t want to miss out on. Media promotion was heavy with consistent posts about the open house & application opening.

Result: Due to our heavy promotion and goal to increase SWOOP's brand awareness. Compared to the previous semester, Spring 2025's open house, we were able to get about a 36% increase in applicants.
